-
Northwest Yeshiva High School was founded in 1974.
-
The first class was comprised of six pioneering young men.
-
The high school originally functioned as an extension of the Seattle Hebrew
Academy, and met in the Academy's basement.
-
The high school added its own administrative and fundraising offices in
1977.
-
The Yeshiva realized its dream of moving into its own facility in 1992.
The new building, located on Mercer Island, offered features such as multiple
classrooms, science and computer labs, a library, a large sanctuary for
daily prayers, administrative offices, an outdoor basketball court, and
a student lunchroom.
-
In the fall of 1997, expanded enrollment necessitated an expansion
to the school building.
